Auction House Enakor invites you to an exhibition of watercolours from the famous Bulgarian sculptor and artist – Vaska Emanuilova /1905 – 1985/.

The exhibition will take place from 2nd – 10th February in the small hall of Shipka 6, floor 2. The exhibition is organised together with the Union of Bulgarian Artists.

Vaska Emanuilova is one of the biggest names in the Bulgarian contemporary art scene. She has left a remarkable trace in the area of sculpture, portrait, historic and lifestyle composition.

Vaska Emanuilova is born in 1905 in the village of Komshtitza, Godech area. She studies Paining in the class of prof. Tzeno Todorov and Sculpture with prof. Ivan Lazarov in the State Academy of Arts. After graduating Vaska participates in various exhibitions by female painters.

In 1931, she becomes a co-founder and a member of the Union of New Artists and takes part in lots of the exhibitions organised by the union.

In 1939, she takes a three-month Sculpture course in Paris. From 1944 Veska Emanuilova participates in almost every collective art exhibition organised by the Union of Bulgarian Artists.

The exhibition organised by Auction House Enakor will include 34 watercolours from the artist – landscapes from the areas of her birthplace.

The opening of the exhibition will take place on 2nd February at 18:00.

A day before the closing of the exhibition, on the 9th February will be presented the first publication from the brand new “Enakor Studies” printed series – the study by Rossitsa Gicheva-Meimari, PhD.
