Star to the Great Cross of the St. Alexander Order Emission of Knyaz Ferdinand I

Date of establishment: 25.12.1881. Produced by Auguste Krely, Paris. The St. Alexander Order is ranked after the “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” Order and the Military Bravery Order in the hierarchy of Bulgarian distinctions. It is a domestic or dynastic order, established by Knyaz Alexander I Batenberg in 1881. The distinction was planned by the Knyaz even before his arrival in Bulgaria. The designs were prepared by Friedrich von Rosenfeld. The motto of the order is “СЪ НАМИ БОГ” (“God is with us”).
